Senior Accountant

Location: Orange, CA - On-Site

Assignment Type: Temp-to-Permanent

Compensation: $48–$58/hour, depending on experience

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Job Description:

We are seeking a well-rounded Senior Accountant to join a professional accounting team. This position is ideal for someone with public accounting experience who is comfortable working across financial statement preparation, tax compliance, accounting analysis, and assurance engagements. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, communicate directly with clients, and manage multiple engagements and deadlines.

  • Prepare complete financial statements, supporting schedules, reconciliations, and adjusting journal entries.
  • Analyze general ledger activity and resolve accounting discrepancies and complex client accounting issues.
  • Review and correct underlying accounting records while maintaining a strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting systems.
  • Prepare individual and business tax returns and provide support with trust and estate tax filings.
  • Perform and support review, compilation, and audit engagements with increasing responsibility.
  • Communicate directly with clients to obtain information, resolve accounting and tax matters, and maintain strong relationships.
  • Manage multiple client engagements, priorities, and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Utilize QuickBooks and other accounting systems to analyze and maintain accurate financial information.
  • Apply strong GAAP and general accounting knowledge to research and resolve technical accounting matters.
  • Take ownership of assigned client work while collaborating with senior team members and partners.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
  • Public accounting or CPA firm experience strongly preferred.
  • CPA license strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Experience preparing financial statements from start to finish.
  • Tax preparation experience, including individual and/or business returns.
  • Review, compilation, or audit experience highly preferred.
  • Trust and estate tax experience is a strong plus.
  • Strong understanding of reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting.
  • QuickBooks experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, research, communication, and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple clients, projects, and deadlines.
