Title: Outsource Accounting Services (OAS) Manager - Client & Advisory Focus
Classification: Full-Time, Exempt
Reports to: Partner, Outsource Accounting Services (OAS)
Location: Ridgefield, CT
Work Schedule:
This position may be performed on a hybrid or remote basis.
While not required, the ideal schedule would include 1-2 days per week on-site to facilitate collaboration, team engagement, and relationship building. However, employees should expect to work on-site approximately 1-2 days per week to support training, team integration, knowledge transfer during the onboarding/training process.
Following successful onboarding and demonstrated proficiency in role, the position may transition to a fully remote schedule, subject to business needs and manager approval.
Employees must remain available to attend occasional on-site meetings, company events, training sessions, team-building activities, other business-related functions throughout the year, as needed.

Position Summary
The Outsource Accounting Services (OAS) Manager will serve as a client-facing leader and strategic advisor within the OAS practice. This individual will work alongside existing Management (focused on execution and workflow management) and will take primary ownership of client relationships, financial insight delivery, and practice growth initiatives.
This role is designed for a high-potential professional who can evolve into a Director-level leader, helping shape the long-term vision of our Outsourcing Accounting Services provided to our Clients at the Firm. The ideal candidate brings a blend of technical accounting expertise, business acumen, and exceptional communication skills, with a passion for helping clients improve operational and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership & Advisory
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of Outsource Accounting Services (OAS) clients
  • Lead client meetings, presenting financial results, insights, and strategic recommendations
  • Translate financial data into meaningful business guidance and decision support
  • Act as a trusted advisor, identifying opportunities to improve client operations, processes, and profitability

Strategic Growth & Practice Development
  • Identify and drive cross-sell and upsell opportunities within existing client relationships
  • Participate in business development efforts, including proposals, networking, and thought leadership
  • Help shape and refine the firm's MAS service offerings and delivery model
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, technology, and best practices to bring innovative solutions to clients

Engagement Oversight
  • Oversee multiple client engagements, ensuring quality, timeliness, and adherence to scope
  • Collaborate with the internal Manager to ensure efficient workflow execution and staffing alignment
  • Review complex accounting work and provide guidance on technical matters
  • Ensure consistency and excellence in deliverables across engagements

Team Leadership & Mentorship
  • Mentor and develop MAS staff, focusing on both technical growth and client communication skills
  • Provide coaching on translating accounting work into client-ready insights
  • Support performance management and professional development initiatives

Technical & Operational Excellence
  • Maintain expertise in cloud-based accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks Online) and emerging technologies
  • Oversee or advise on key accounting functions including:
    • General ledger and financial statement preparation
    • Reconciliations and month-end close
    • Cash flow and operational reporting
  • Provide guidance on complex accounting issues and ensure high-quality standards

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's preferred)
  • 5-8+ years of public accounting experience, including client-facing responsibilities
  • Proven experience managing client relationships and presenting financial information
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks Online)
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and communicate financial insights clearly
  • Experience supervising and developing staff
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple client engagements
  • High level of professionalism, business judgment, and confidentiality
