Manages innovation programs and initiatives of varying complexity, overseeing planning, execution, and cross-functional implementation across the organization. Leads or supports programs-from concept development through testing, evaluation, and implementation-while fostering a culture of curiosity, creativity, and continuous learning aligned with Sutter Health's innovation standards and values. Shapes ideas into actionable solutions by enabling and supporting frontline staff, clinicians, and cross-disciplinary teams as they explore, pilot, and scale new approaches. Develops and monitors program objectives, manages resources and performance, and advances departmental innovation goals-helping position Sutter Health as a leading innovator in healthcare.

Job Description:

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • Bachelor's: Business Administration or related field


TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 8 years recent relevant experience.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Program management tooling (Smartsheet, Asana, Jira) at scale (multi-workstream tracking)

  • Advanced Excel (financial modeling, scenario analysis) + SQL proficiency for data extraction

  • Dashboarding & data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker)

  • Process improvement certifications (Lean, Six Sigma)

  • Change management certification (Prosci/ADKAR or equivalent)

  • Financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, and ROI modeling for new initiatives

  • Experimentation & evaluation design (A/B testing, pilot design, basic statistical analysis)

  • Healthcare data/regulatory fluency (HIPAA, working with clinical/operational datasets)

  • Proficiency in facilitation and design tools (Miro, FigJam) for structured working sessions

  • Advanced presentation development (PowerPoint) and executive-level data storytelling

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge and understanding of strategic planning, including group facilitation and plan development.

  • Knowledge and understanding of business plan development, including qualitative and quantitative research and analysis.

  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to interact with a wide variety of internal and external customers, including patients, physicians, payors.

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled.
