This position is responsible for providing a safe, secure, and professional environment at special events, including soccer matches, golf tournaments, football games, concerts, festivals, and other public gatherings. The officer serves as a visible security presence, assists guests, monitors event activities, enforces site rules, and responds appropriately to incidents and emergencies.
Summary
Special Events - The Security Officer ensures efficient and professional security operations at special events throughout various seasons. When working this position, the hours and shifts may be intermittent and temporary, with the possibility of moving to permanent shifts, depending on the season and the event type. Event types include, but are not limited to: Golf course events, Festivals, Concerts, Professional outings, Lobby services, Sporting events, and General event security. Security Officers will report any suspicious activity immediately to the Security Corporal, on duty Security Sergeant, or Regional Manager. Perform all essential functions of a Security Officer while at appointed site.
Essential Duties/ Responsibilities
• Work to ensure that the assigned premises are kept safe and secure
• Regular walks around assigned perimeter
• Communicate effectivelyand regularly toteam using assigned radio
• Identify and correct inefficiencies, liabilities, and safety hazards at appointed site
• Monitor assigned location with high degree of attentiveness to surroundings at appointed site
• Provide detailed information to authorities as needed
• Have NO use of force to protect property - Secure and Report ONLY
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or management
Required Skills / Abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
• Utilize the company's current scheduling and approving her/his weekly hours for payroll
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail is a must
• Judgement and high level of integrity
• High initiative and reliability
• Ability to work in a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration, and teamwork
• Safely and legally operate a motor vehicle; Must have a valid and current Driver's License
Physical Demands
• Must be able to sit upright, stand, or walk for 100% of the shift as needed
• Must be able to quickly ascend and descend stairs and move as needed to secure premises
• Must be able to engage quickly physically to de-escalate or respond to security or safety threats
• • Must have excellent visual and auditory acuity to see, hear, and interpret observable people, things, behavior, and speech.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Position Type and Expected Work Conditions
• Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt - Minimal 8-hour shifts
• Involves work assignments that vary in days of the week and time of day to relate to the 24/7 security operations of the client
• Travel to other locations may be needed
• Both indoors and outdoors possible, regardless of weather
• • Special Events Security Officer - hours will vary based off event schedule
Required Education and Experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Required to make any/all continued training/education classes provided by Premier Security Solutions, relevant to position
• Law enforcement, public safety, or military experience, preferred
