The Genesee County Board of Commissioners is seeking individuals interested in serving their community on the various Boards, Committees, Commissions and Agencies. This application provides the Board of Commissioners with basic information about yourself.
Committee Description
The Board of Commissioners is seeking one (1) individual to serve on the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission (GCMPC) for a partial term expiring March 28, 2027.
The Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission (GCMPC) serves as an advisory body that helps guide long-range planning and community development across the county. The commission reviews and discusses land use, transportation, community growth, housing, infrastructure, and environmental planning, while promoting coordinated, sustainable, and equitable development in our region. Through research, public input, and collaboration with local governments, agencies, and community partners, the commission provides recommendations that support informed decision-making that help shape the county's future.
Most recently, GCMPC has crafted the first draft of the Our County, Our Future Master Plan, a combined document that serves as the 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) and the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan for Genesee County.
