Develops and maintains risk decision-support strategies using analytical solutions to enable high-quality, fact-based decisions for a designated risk portfolio. Supports the development of the strategy and roadmap for data quality, data analytics, data modeling, reporting, business intelligence, and the design and development of sophisticated decision support tools.

  • Own development and operationalization of forecasting frameworks for balances, losses, revenue and profitability across multiple lending strategies.
  • Design and measure champion/challenger and test/control experiments to quantify incremental strategy impact, loss avoidance and economic value creation.
  • Build executive-ready Power BI solutions that enable scenario testing, forecast monitoring and self-serve analytics.
  • Lead vintage analytics, cohort performance analysis and attribution of forecast variances.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear business recommendations for senior executives
  • Makes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group.
  • Measures the effectiveness of risk decision strategy management framework; recommends changes as required.
  • Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in credit strategy, portfolio analytics, risk analytics or lending performance management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Experience designing and measuring test/control experiments and quantifying incremental business impact.
  • Deep understanding of vintage analytics, cohort analysis, loss forecasting and portfolio economics.
  • Advanced Excel skills with ability to build forecasting and scenario models from scratch.
  • Advanced Power BI experience including dynamic reporting, what-if analysis and executive dashboard development.
  • Proven ability to communicate analytical insights to executive audience
  • In-depth / expert product knowledge for the designated business / portfolio.
  • In-depth / expert knowledge of risk management theory, processes and portfolio management reporting techniques.
  • In-depth / expert knowledge of modelling & analytics concepts and applications.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
