Job Description

The Senior Finance Manager - IT will be the finance partner for our Chief Information Officer and Staff. You will provide decision support regarding digital investments, integrating mergers & acquisitions, and supporting important infrastructure and operations for the enterprise. You will help keep us safe from outside threats by helping manage critical cybersecurity investments. What makes this role unique is the interaction with important decision makers across the entire organization.

You will report to the Director, Finance - GA&I and IT located at Rockwell Automation's world headquarters in Milwaukee, WI, USA.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Provide financial support to CIO, 5 Vice Presidents and global IT staff of over 700 people
  • Manage a budget of approx. $400M including large capital projects
  • Create business cases for large digital investments and complex multi-year technology contracts
  • Lead productivity programs that lower the IT organization’s cost to serve
  • Ensure that the highest return on investment programs are funded by managing the > $50M project portfolio.
  • Partner with Global Analytics and Insights organization that provides FP&A support
  • Ensure renewals and accounting treatment for $140M of license and maintenance contracts
  • Ensure that VP's staffs understand financial results and reduce risks.
  • Provide financial support for long-term strategy including ERP roadmaps
  • Focus on main causes which include large and variable type expenses to ensure that finance support is providing the highest value, based on capacity
  • Lead quarterly forecasting and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) processes
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 10+ years of progressive Financial Planning & Analysis experience
  • Experience supporting a senior level executive of a department or function
  • Experience working through complex accounting models including leases, financing arrangements, and large capital projects related to both software development and infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and IFRS
  • Background in investment analysis including business cases and benefits realization
  • Experience with large technology solutions and providers
  • Agile/SAFE software development practices
  • Working knowledge of SAP, EPM or other financial systems
