Job description

The Dairy Farm Supervisor plans, directs, monitors, and coordinates production and herd procedures and protocol. This position will provide direction, coaching, guidance, and development to the Dairy Farm staff.

Essential Duties:

  • Oversee Farm staff and general operations of the Dairy Farm including the general herd, maternity, and milking barns
  • Monitor herd and milk hygiene, cow movement, and cow treatment
  • Supervise care and maintenance of the milking parlors including cleanliness of milk barns
  • Schedule routine maintenance and needed repairs
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. and/or 3-5 years supervisory experience in the related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of associated industry and regulatory guidance documents
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to successfully supervise and manage workforce, contractors and vendors through positive motivation of individuals and teams
  • Must be willing to work the demands of the Farms which are subject to evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to reach and handle objects, tools, or controls; ability to frequently walk; ability to communicate when necessary to complete duties.
  • Occasionally stand and sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
