The Company's portfolio includes a collection of worldโ€renowned venues โ€“ New York's Madison Square Garden, Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, and Beacon Theatre; and The Chicago Theatre โ€“ that showcase a broad array of sporting events, concerts, family shows, and special events for millions of guests annually. In addition, the Company features the original production, *Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes*, which has been a holiday tradition for more than 90 years. Who are we hiring? The Production Manager is responsible for the successful advancement and completion of the assigned events across the Madison Square Garden venues, including but not limited to Radio City Music Hall & The Beacon Theatre. The Production Manager position will encompass managing the operational execution of a wide range of events such as concerts, comedy shows, special entertainment events, and family shows. This person will act as the liaison between client and all venue departments, partners and stakeholders to maximize operational efficiency through collaboration and communication. The Production Manager will be responsible for generating and maintaining operational budgets for the assigned event. The Production Manager will work with a Union & a nonโ€union labor workforce. The position exists within an environment that is a (24) hour / (7) days a week operation due to the numerous daily and nightly events across live entertainment. The ability to successfully multiโ€task and collaborate in an energetic and timeโ€sensitive environment is of the utmost importance. What will you do? Production Manager will be responsible for administering all event planning with the client and venue stakeholders throughout the entire event process for assigned events, from advancement to being onโ€site for loadโ€in through loadโ€out. Responsible for administering all event planning with the client and venue departments including, but not limited to, staging, lighting and sound, client seating, and client staffing requirements. Generate and maintain budgets with timely updates throughout the event process through constant analysis and attention to detail. Track costs against budget for settlement with internal and external clients. Produce AutoCAD drawings to illustrate seating maps to be used for the purpose of on sales across the event spectrum. These drawings build the foundation for the event and will be shared with various stakeholders across the MSG enterprises, including but not limited to Box Office, Finance, Building Operations & Booking. Work with outside agencies to ensure work rules, jurisdictions, codes, and policies are maintained. Understand and communicate with all parties the work rules for Union & Nonโ€Union labor teams. Schedule and direct union and nonโ€union labor associated with the daily operation of event. Troubleshoot event day issues and be highly responsive to emergencies in a fast paced, time sensitive environment. Oversee transition from day of event activities to the load out of all equipment for assigned events. Evaluate quality of client and guest experience through observation and responding to feedback. What do you need to succeed? Candidates who have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar selfโ€development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred. Educational requirements may differ from job to job based on the role. 5-7 years working experience in live event production management with direct responsibility for supervising and directing staffs across a wide range of operating functions in a changing environment. Technical knowledge surrounding production specific items involving but not limited to rigging and engineering review, power provisions, industry standard safety protocols, Union regulations and processes specific to I.A.T.S.E, as well as I.B.E.W & Theatrical Teamsters. Knowledge and understanding of general building codes & fire safety specific to each MSG venue A general knowledge of sports and a willingness to learn, specifically hockey & basketball and how these MSG enterprises coexist with live entertainment. Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks with both financial and operational implications across departments and venues in a deadlineโ€oriented environment. Experience supervising and working with Union & Nonโ€Union Crews Experience creating and maintaining event budgets and preparing financial information for event settlements. Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and exceptional attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Possess problem solving, reasoning, motivational, and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently when necessary and use sound business judgement. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to resolve conflicts in time sensitive manner.
