Job description

Position Title: EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) Manager

Location: Hattiesburg, MS 39401
Employment Type: Full-Time
Relocation Assistance: Provided

Position Summary

The EHS Manager will lead the implementation of the site’s environmental and safety management systems, ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, and promote proactive initiatives that reduce environmental impact and work-related injuries. This role is key to building a strong safety culture, driving compliance, and improving overall environmental health and safety performance across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the site’s environmental management system
  • Drive a culture of safety and employee engagement across all levels of the organization
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies to ensure environmental compliance
  • Conduct incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Deliver training on site-specific environmental programs and safety procedures
  • Develop motivational and awareness programs to foster EHS ownership across the site
  • Ensure compliance with industrial hygiene testing and create improvement plans based on results
  • Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs, including safe handling, labeling, and disposal
  • Implement proactive controls to improve air emissions and waste management
  • Develop and monitor continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall safety and sustainability performance

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, Occupational Safety, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated success in driving a cultural shift toward safety through leadership and engagement
  • Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and compliance standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of an organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data to drive improvement
  • Familiarity with behavior-based safety programs and ISO 14001 standards
