KCW Engineering Technologies, Inc. is recruiting for an Electrical Distribution Designer with a GIS background to assist in GIS creation and engineering design preparation of construction drawings for various electrical projects. Candidate must have electrical distribution design and BGE system knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  • Electrical knowledge includes but not limited to power distribution (normal and emergency systems, lighting systems and controls, power studies, renewable energy design, and special systems).
  • Complete fieldwork to field-truth construction drawings. Make sketches, take photos, measure conductor distances with a laser rangefinder.
  • Convert GIS data to and from many different coordinate systems. Copy, edit and reconcile conflicts through enterprise version control software.
  • Combine powerful GIS capabilities with engineering standards to create high-quality construction documents.
  • Creating, editing, and updating point, line, and polygon features with complex relational databases. Import high-resolution CAD drawings into GIS feature classes with extreme accuracy.
  • Ensure the highest quality product for our client.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1-3 years' experience in Electrical Distribution Engineering and BGE systems.
  • Microstation Experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Detail-oriented individual.
  • Strong communication skills, written and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Collaborative with and inclusive of individuals of diverse backgrounds and geographic locations.
  • Must be comfortable in both a field and office setting.

Education:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related discipline; six years of experience in lieu of a degree. 

Compensation:

  • $24.00-$41.00/hour (equal to $49,920-$62,400 annually)
  • Position eligible for overtime
  • Position eligible for discretionary bonuses at the sole discretion of the company
