The purpose of Winsupply Sourcing Services and its Distribution Center (DC) network is to be a preferred vendor and partner of Local Companies. This is achieved through premier supply chain services at its seven DCs to provide Winsupply entrepreneurs and their customers the inventory they need, when they need it, from over 200 vendor suppliers.
Job Description
The Distribution Center Department Team Lead is a high impact, hands-on role that is essential to maintaining seamless department flow. Serving as the second in command for the assigned department, this role will translate daily operational plans set forth by the supervisor, and work alongside the team to ensure safety, speed, and accuracy. The department lead will serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting, is the pace setter for productivity, and the person who ensures the team is trained and positioned to exceed daily department goals.
Key Job Responsibilities
  • Work M-F, 2:00PM-10:30PM
  • Team Development & Training
  • Facilitate initial new employee training and provide daily mentorship to department associates to foster a high performing team.
  • Assist the department supervisor in employee cross-training initiatives, and provide real-time feedback on all new employee training.
  • Act as the primary floor monitor for OSHA compliance and safety procedures. Report all findings to the department supervisor.
  • Lead by example, maintain a safe work environment, and assist in all personnel-related documentation.
  • Assist the department supervisor with associate accountability as it relates to distribution center policies.

Operational Excellence & KPI Adherence
  • Execute daily performance metric targets set forth by the department supervisor, ensuring all associate KPI metric expectations are satisfied.
  • Drive department performance in accuracy, damage mitigation, and "dock to stock" expectations through active floor presence, process knowledge, and problem-solving resolution.
  • Execute quality control oversight to minimize errors, discrepancies, and damages. Work with the department supervisor to establish proactive, best practice, improvement measures in all operational areas.
  • Work with all team members to identify operational bottlenecks and provide actionable solutions, and provide feedback to the supervisor to improve long-term performance.

Communication & Coordination
  • Work closely with the department supervisor to balance labor, workload, and resources across the department.
  • Maintain responsive, professional communication with internal and external partners and customers to ensure high levels of service.
  • Demonstrate a high level of understanding regarding the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Ensure all employees are certified and trained on material handling equipment as assigned by the department supervisor.

  • 2+ years of warehouse experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of WMS/TMS systems; proficiency in data analytics.
  • MHE certification required.
