Description
General: Drives tractor and trailer combination to pickup, transport and deliver products. The truck driver will report to the dispatcher, supervisor, operations manager, or general manager. The truck driver will observe all federal, state, and local laws governing intra and interstate transport. The truck driver will observe all company rules and policies covering intra or interstate transport.
  • A minimum age of twenty-one (21) years.
  • Required to meet DOT physical qualifications and pass all drug screen tests.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience as a driver of commercial motor vehicles similar to the type of equipment utilized by the Company or successful completion of the Company's documented training program.
  • Possession of a valid commercial driving license with Hazardous Material and Tanker endorsement (endorsements optional) issued by the resident state of the driver.
  • No record of a license suspension or revocation for more than thirty (30) days, for any reason, during the thirty-six (36) month period prior to the date of the motor vehicle record.
  • No record of citation or conviction for the violations listed below during the thirty-six (36) month period prior to the order date of the motor vehicle record.
    • Driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
    • Refusal to take a test required by an implied consent or similar law.
    • Violation of an 'open container' or similar statue.
    • Reckless homicide or involuntary manslaughter.
    • Operating a motor vehicle while under suspension or revocation.
    • Leaving the scene of an accident or 'hit and run'.
    • Speed exhibition, contest or drag race.
    • Vehicular homicide.
    • Assault with a motor vehicle.
    • Reckless driving or careless endangerment.
    • Operating or use of a motor vehicle without the permission of the owner.
    • Fleeing or eluding a police officer.
  • No record of citation or convictions for more than four (4) motor vehicle violations (excluding those listed in requirement (6) during the thirty-six (36) month period prior to the order date of the motor vehicle record).
  • No record of involvement in more than two (2) at-fault traffic accidents while operating a motor vehicle during the thirty-six (36) month period prior to the order date of the motor vehicle record.
  • No record of involvement in more than two (2) at-fault traffic accidents and not more than two (2) motor vehicle violations while operating a motor vehicle during the thirty-six (36) month period prior to the order date of the motor vehicle record.
  • No record of involvement in more than one (1) at-fault traffic accident and more than three (3) motor vehicle violations while operating a motor vehicle during the thirty-six (36) month period prior to the order date of the motor vehicle.
  • Inspects tractor and trailer for defects before and after trips, including truck equipment and supplies such as tires, brakes, fuel, oil, and water, an submits a vehicle condition report indicating the condition of the equipment.
  • Drives tractor and trailer combination to origin and destinations.
  • Maintains driver reports according to company policies, and Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Assists technologists when needed.
