UMB's Trust and Custody Operations department is the back-office support for our nationally recognized Corporate Trust and Institutional Custody service providers. As the Trust & Custody Operations Team Manager I, you will lead a dynamic, highly collaborative Income Processing team within our Shared Services division. This is not just a management role; it is a platform to drive innovation, mentor rising talent, and directly impact the financial experiences of clients across the entire UMB footprint. You will lead a high-performing team that processes daily income calculations, provides exception resolution, and performs associated processing activities. This position ensures our team is properly developed to carry out their daily responsibilities and effectively service business partners. You will interact with associates through formal and informal means to ensure we are creating a productive, engaged workforce. They will also provide a high level of expertise to business partners and help them provide unparalleled service to UMB customers.

The Income Processing team is about creating strong connections amongst its associates to develop and maintain a positive working experience. You are valued for who you are in a fun, professional setting. It is a team that works closely together to ensure everyone is successful. Associates are supported and encouraged to work with their manager to develop roadmaps for opportunity within Operations and beyond.

This team also partners closely with the Corporate Actions team to execute voluntary/mandatory events and reduce financial exposure.

How you'll spend your time:

  • You will provide a high level of expertise in dividends, capital gains, maturity, interest, and principal payments to business partners
  • Supervise daily Income Processing workflows while actively mentoring, training, and building clear career development roadmaps for your team members.
  • Collaborate intimately with our Corporate Actions team to align income lifecycles, manage asset events, and ensure seamless delivery on mandatory and voluntary corporate actions.
  • Oversee the secure processing and transfer of diverse assets, including traditional cash, securities, and unique, high-value alternative investments.
  • Act as the premier subject matter expert for internal partners and clients, turning complex, unpredictable scenarios into smooth, successful client experiences.
  • Cultivate a fun, inclusive, and professional team environment where every associate feels valued and positioned for long-term growth within UMB.

Compensation Ranges:

US Employees in California, Washington DC, New Jersey, and New York:

$62,310 - $90,760

US Employees in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin:

$56,890 - $83,080

US Employees in all other states not listed above:

$51,480 - $75,410
