Job description

Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  1. Remove old pattern from the loom (warp beam, drop wires, harnesses, and reed).
  2. Take the empty beam to the warping area, and the drop wires, harnesses, and reed to the draw-in area.
  3. Ensure that the loom has been thoroughly cleaned.
  4. Retrieve a new pattern from the draw-in room and place it in the loom.
  5. Set the rapier guide plates and rapier stroke to Dornier specifications.
  6. Make adjustment to air setting on air jet weaving machines to compensate for different yarn types to produce quality fabric at optimal efficiency.
  7. Check the product specification sheet for the new style to determine what type weave pattern and construction specifications and set the loom accordingly.
  8. Check and set the harness timing and settings, as well as other settings related to the style change as necessary.
  9. Perform other duties assigned by management.
  10. Follow all safety rules to ensure the safety of yourself and those around you.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing environment. The candidate is frequently exposed to noise, dust and various chemicals, and moving parts requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection and steel toe shoes.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the candidate is regularly required to talk, walk, stand (for extended periods of time), and hear. The candidate must be able to read and understand the plant loom monitoring system. The candidate must have good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity. The candidate must be able to weave. The candidate will be required to reach out and overhead with hands and arms, and perform repetitive hand actions - grasping, push/pull, and fine manipulations. The candidate will be required to bend, stoop, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull with entire body weights up to 150 lbs. The candidate must be able to climb up and down steps as necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this position include color vision, close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Weekend and overtime may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
This position requires little to no travel.
Required Education and Experience
  1. High School Diploma or GED preferred
  2. Mechanical, electrical, and electronic aptitude
