Project Manager - Department of Defense (DoD) Installations

Our services include new construction, renovations, fueling systems, and energy projects for a range of commercial and federal government clients. As a prime contractor, we execute a full range of construction disciplines. Our mechanical capabilities enable us to self-perform technically complex mechanical and fuels work.


The selected candidate will be responsible for managing project execution, financial performance, scheduling, and technical requirements in accordance with USACE, AFCEC, and NAVFAC contract standards, project plans, and internal company policies. Responsibilities include proposal development, cost estimating, scheduling, planning, field execution, and project closeout. The role also involves supporting business development in a defined client base, geographic region, or project type.


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Establish project goals, procedures, and performance benchmarks based on job specifications, project requirements, and corporate policy
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and execution plans to ensure high-quality project outcomes
  • Act as the primary contact with clients and manage communication to ensure alignment with project objectives
  • Collaborate with pre-construction and proposal teams to develop proposals and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions
  • Plan and assist with staffing for projects through company hiring practices
  • Ensure project delivery meets schedule, budget, and performance expectations
  • Manage financial aspects of the project, including tracking, reporting, and forecasting to maintain positive client and subcontractor relationships
  • Requisition materials, equipment, and supplies within authorized limits
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and provide onsite support as necessary
  • Ensure proper safety practices are followed throughout project execution
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Science and at least 2 years as a CMS Assistant Project Manager or 7+ years in an equivalent external role
  • Associate's degree in the same fields and 2+ years as a CMS Assistant Project Manager or 9+ years of relevant external experience
  • High school diploma and 2+ years as a CMS Assistant Project Manager or 11+ years of comparable external project management experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Prior experience on DoD projects required
  • Strong team leadership and project coordination skills
  • Ability to represent the company professionally in all forms of communication
  • Expertise in construction practices, scheduling, contract administration, plan/specification interpretation, financial tracking, and equipment usage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Primavera P6
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Reports to the Director of Operations
Working Conditions
  • Light physical activity including frequent movement of light materials
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, and reach
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and walk construction sites
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, be insurable under company policy, and able to travel as needed
  • Must be able to access federal work sites as required
