Job description

Oldfield Club, located in Oaktie, SC, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a full-time Golf Course Equipment Operator! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you'll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
The Equipment Operator will assist with the daily maintenance and presentation of the golf course while gaining experience operating a variety of specialized turf and maintenance equipment.
Position Responsibilities
  • Operate handheld equipment including weed eaters, edgers, backpack blowers, and other small-engine equipment.
  • Assist with daily mowing and maintenance of the golf course.
  • Properly trained to operate specialized walking and riding equipment used to mow greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
  • Learn proper mowing techniques and equipment operation to maintain consistent turf quality and playing conditions.
  • Assist with course setup, detail work, cleanup, and other daily maintenance responsibilities.
  • Perform general landscape and golf course maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Maintain equipment in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
  • Follow all safety procedures and proper equipment operating practices.
  • Work as part of a team to maintain the golf course to a high standard for our members and guests.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and pride in their work. Previous golf course maintenance experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right individual who is motivated to learn and develop their skills.
This position provides an excellent opportunity for someone interested in building a career in golf course maintenance and agronomy. As the individual's knowledge and experience grow, there will be opportunities to learn and operate increasingly specialized equipment and take on additional responsibilities within the Oldfield Agronomy Team.
