Job description

Garrett Metal Detectors, a world leader in the design and manufacture of metal detecting equipment is looking to hire a Direct Sales Representative. This ON-SITE position works directly with end users to help them determine the products needed to meet their security screening needs. The position is involved from prospect/lead stage to final order entry; ensuring proper follow-up, necessary documentation, and order entry. This position will be required to do video-based presentations of products when requested by customers and at times will be representing Garrett at local/regional or national trade shows /exhibits.
The ideal candidate will have the following background:
  • Inside B2B sales experience, working directly with end user
    • Ability to uncover the needs of potential customer to position appropriate products
  • Experience with using and managing pipeline within CRM required, HubSpot preferred
  • Experience working with schools, healthcare systems and government agencies preferred
  • Security industry experience preferred
Essential Functions
  1. Execute sales strategy, initiate contact with existing / potential customers.
  2. Identify customer needs and facilitate the sale of appropriate products to meet those needs.
  3. Work with sales and marketing teams to prospect perspective customers and increase sales in assigned US and Canadian markets.
  4. Work within CRM (HubSpot) to handle leads, establish customer buying cycles, customer needs, send quotes and manage funnel of business prospects.
  5. Prepare and present sales information to customers in written formats, virtual demonstration sessions and face-to-face meetings (when necessary).
  6. Secure and enter orders, taking into consideration delivery dates and inventory levels for fulfillment.
  7. Travel to regional and national tradeshows to represent Garrett and its products as needed (~20%).
  8. Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals and work cohesively with other departments within company to deliver products and services to the customer.
  9. Ensure all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements
  10. Comply with safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Required Education and Experience
  1. Bachelor’s degree required
  2. Minimum of three years’ B2B sales experience required; previous experience with security products and services, preferred
Skills amp; Qualifications
  1. Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, time management and organizational skills
  2. Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
  3. Experience working extensively in CRM, preferably HubSpot
  4. Ability to collaborate with others in a multidisciplinary team environment
  5. Trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
  6. Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems preferred, not required
Work Environment
  1. Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office/production setting with adequate ventilation and moderate noise
  2. May work in end-user environment both indoor and outdoor for varied periods of time.
  3. Limited overnight travel, up to twenty percent via land or air is required
Physical Demands
Minimal to moderate physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an office/clerical nature to work from a sitting or standing position.
  1. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
  2. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crouch
  3. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  4. Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds, with or without assistance
