Description: Accounting Manager
OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced Accountant. This role is responsible for General Ledger month-end closing processes, corporate accounting, and regulatory and financial reporting; ensuring the accuracy of accounting records; ensuring reported results comply with accounting principles and standards; and developing internal control policies and procedures. Simplify and streamline processes.
Responsibilities:
- Managing all finance and accounting operations, including AR, GL accounting, and cost accounting
- Coordinate, support, manage, and direct the preparation of month-end closing activities to ensure financials are submitted to corporate in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and report variances
- Knowledge in percentage of completion revenue recognition
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Manage the company’s financial reporting system, generate monthly financial statements and ensure the integrity of the balance sheet
- Provide support for the annual audit
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Manage, mentor, and train employees
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 8+ years of related experience (Project based accounting experience considered an asset).
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills; working with large datasets from multiple systems.
- Strong analytical background; results driven.
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to prioritize activities and manage workload in a complex, fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
- Well-developed critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with senior management and business operations personnel.
