Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist/Machine Technician to support machining operations, prototype fabrication, equipment setup, and dimensional inspection activities. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on machining knowledge, experience operating CNC equipment, and a solid understanding of precision measurement and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and support CNC milling and/or turning equipment
  • Perform machine setup, tooling setup, work offsets, and fixture preparation
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing specifications
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, feeds, and speeds for different materials and applications
  • Support prototype machining, fabrication, and process development
  • Perform dimensional inspections using precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, and other metrology equipment
  • Verify machined part quality and maintain inspection records
  • Troubleshoot machining and dimensional issues
  • Support preventive maintenance and shop organization
  • Coordinate with engineering teams on manufacturability and machining improvements
  • Follow all shop safety and operational procedures

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience operating CNC machines and machining equipment
  • Strong understanding of machining fundamentals and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand tolerances/GD&T
  • Experience with precision measurement and inspection techniques
  • Familiarity with machining materials such as aluminum, copper, stainless steel, and engineering plastics
  • Strong understanding of G-code and CNC programming concepts
