Job description

The Senior Manager, Development Platform is responsible for the operational leadership, delivery coordination, and continuous improvement of technology platforms that support critical business and development functions. This role helps ensure secure, reliable, compliant, and scalable services by translating business needs and technology direction into practical platform plans and delivery priorities. The Senior Manager partners with business and IT stakeholders to lead complex initiatives, support effective adoption of solutions, and drive measurable service improvements.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage tactical and operational plans that support functional objectives and business outcomes. Drive execution of platform priorities and ensure alignment with agreed organizational and technology direction.

• Lead complex projects and operational initiatives that support the organization, ensuring delivery against expected business value, compliance requirements, quality standards, timelines, and budgets.

• Coordinate planning, delivery, enhancement, and support activities for current and future platform services and architecture needed to meet evolving business and IT needs.

• Contribute to the assessment and refinement of platform plans, operating models, and service capabilities to ensure technology services remain aligned with business goals, architecture standards, and future operational needs.

• Collaborate with business leaders, enterprise architects, digital and technology teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to shape platform roadmaps, delivery plans, and service improvements that support business and IT priorities.

• Manage implementation and adoption activities for new products, technologies, standards, processes, and operational capabilities that support continuous improvement and effective platform use.

• Maintain and improve information services, application platforms, and supporting architectures to promote operational stability, scalability, security, and sustainability.

• Ensure solutions and platforms comply with regulatory requirements, security standards, data governance standards, and company policies while maintaining audit and inspection readiness. 

• Ensure adherence to Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), validation requirements, security guidelines, and established IT policies and procedures. 

• Promote and support appropriate training and awareness programs to ensure users, support teams, and stakeholders understand applicable compliance, security, and operational requirements. 

• Establish and maintain strong partnerships with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure effective delivery of services and technology solutions. 

• Monitor platform performance, operational risks, service health, and technology roadmaps, driving proactive improvements that enhance reliability, user experience, and business value. 
Travel Requirements: Ability to travel approximately 10–15%, including domestic and occasional international travel, to support global stakeholders, vendors, and program needs.


Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Preferred areas of study include Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or other scientific disciplines. Master's degree or relevant postgraduate coursework is preferred. 
• Minimum 7+ years of relevant information technology experience

• Experience managing technology platforms, enterprise applications, or business-critical systems. 

• Demonstrated experience leading complex projects and programs within global organizations. 

• Experience working within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or similarly regulated environments is preferred. 

• Experience managing vendors, external service providers, and cross-functional stakeholder relationships. 

• Demonstrated knowledge of IT service delivery, platform management, enterprise architecture, and systems lifecycle management. 

• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, computer system validation, GxP environments, cybersecurity principles, and quality management practices. 

• Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable and sustainable technology solutions. 

• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills. 

• Experience supporting operational roadmaps, governance practices, and service improvement initiatives.

• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while delivering results in a complex global environment. 

• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
