Position Summary

We are seeking a full-time, onsite Data Steward to support the organizations data systems, reports, spreadsheets, files, logs, alerts, and related business data processes.

This role works under the Data Architect to help keep business data accurate, organized, secure, and usable across accounting, customer service, reporting, and technical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support accounting, customer service, and other business units related to data access, reporting, imports, exports, issue tracking, and routine maintenance.
  • Provide spreadsheet support, including formulas, formatting, cleanup, validation, troubleshooting, and improvements.
  • Maintain reports, shared files, folders, documentation, logs, alerts, and recurring data processes.
  • Review logs and alerts for errors, failed jobs, warnings, unusual activity, and system issues.
  • Identify and help correct missing, incorrect, duplicated, outdated, or inconsistent data.
  • Organize structured and unstructured data, including spreadsheets, reports, exports, documents, attachments, shared drives, and file repositories.
  • Assist with data cleanup, naming standards, documentation, retention practices, and repeatable processes.
  • Help maintain data policies and procedures related to access, file structure, reporting standards, data quality, documentation, and security.
  • Use SQL, JavaScript, Python, AI tools, and related technologies to support reporting, automation, troubleshooting, documentation, and process improvement.
  • Work in Linux environments to check files, logs, services, scripts, permissions, and basic system status.
  • Perform basic networking checks related to access, connectivity, DNS, ports, file transfers, cloud services, and data integrations.
  • Help build, test, verify, and maintain reports, dashboards, spreadsheets, scripts, scheduled jobs, alerts, automations, and simple data tools.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, user instructions, issue records, templates, checklists, guides, and user-facing data materials.
  • Communicate clearly with business users, managers, technical staff, and the Data Architect.
  • Manage assigned tasks, recurring checks, and support requests with limited supervision.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting business systems, data systems, spreadsheets, reports, or related technical processes.
  • Required experience with Google Cloud or Google Cloud-based tools.
  • Required experience working in Linux environments.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, JavaScript, and Python.
  • Strong spreadsheet skills.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills.
  • Familiarity with AI tools for documentation, troubleshooting, scripting, and data-related work.
  • Ability to check logs, monitor alerts, identify errors, and communicate issues clearly.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, including IP addresses, DNS, ports, connectivity, file transfers, and access issues.
  • Ability to follow data policies, documentation standards, file organization standards, and security practices.
  • Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage recurring tasks.
  • Ability to work onsite full time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with accounting systems, customer service systems, CRM systems, or other business applications.
  • Experience creating documentation, training materials, reports, dashboards, user guides, or user-facing data materials.
  • Basic design skills for reports, dashboards, documentation, presentations, or other business materials.
