Lead, Data Operations Global Expansion

Figure

San Jose, CA • On-site

$100K - $160K/yr

Full-time

Re-posted 10 days ago

Job description

Figure is an AI Robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots. The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human level intelligence. Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. We are based in North San Jose, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration. It's time to build.

We are looking for a Data Operations Lead to join Figure's Operations org and lead the team that stands up new human data operations sites around the world. Data is one of the largest and most strategic functions at Figure, and this role owns how we go from zero to a running site in a new market. You will lead the people who launch new geographies end to end, entity and facility, hiring and training, hardware and software, partnerships and community, solving zero-to-one problems and coordinating with engineering and product at every step.

Responsibilities

Day one, you will own Figure's data operations expansion: the strategy for where we go next and the team that gets us there. You'll stand up new sites against volume, quality, and velocity targets, build the playbook that makes each launch faster than the last, and partner across engineering, product, and ops to make it happen. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Lead the global expansion team that stands up new data operations sites, owning launches from site selection through steady-state handoff to local operators
  • Identify and launch in new geographies, managing entity setup, localization, facilities, partnerships, and community building to establish presence in target regions
  • Build and continuously improve the expansion playbook: the repeatable systems, SOPs, and tooling that make each new site launch faster and more reliable than the last
  • Coordinate with engineering, product, and ops to develop the new hardware, software, and operational systems each site needs
  • Own the expansion dashboard, tracking volume, quality, and throughput across sites daily, identifying bottlenecks, and shipping operational fixes fast
  • Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with local partners, agencies, and vendors to accelerate market entry and growth
  • Serve as the connective tissue between new sites and internal teams, surfacing hardware and software friction, translating field feedback into actionable product improvements, and advocating for your team's needs
  • Hire, develop, and lead the people running launches, growing the team as expansion accelerates

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years in Operations roles at startups and/or global corporations
  • Experience standing up new locations in international markets
  • Demonstrated ability to own outcomes
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working across cultures or in international markets
  • Highly organized with strong project management instincts, comfortable managing multiple sites, partners, and workstreams simultaneously and keeping all plates spinning
  • A commitment to 5 days/week in-office collaboration

Bonus Qualifications

  • Background in AI/ML companies or understanding of data collection for machine learning
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Fluency in Arabic
  • Experience managing physical-world operations in addition to digital platforms

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $100,000 and $160,000 annually.
