Job description

Job Summary:
GIGATEC Engineering is seeking a Data Engineer to orchestrate complex operational data flows. The role involves managing data storage, transport, security, and compliance, as well as performing exploratory data analysis on raw data.
Responsibilities:
• orchestrate complex operational data flows including data storage, data transport, data management, data security, data compliance, and knowledge store management
• working with the mission customer to perform exploratory data analysis on raw data to clean, enrich, transform and convert the raw data into the required formats
• devising methods to tame messy raw inputs
• improve the reliability, compliance, and movement of mission-critical data across systems
Qualifications:
Required:
• Top Secret clearance
• favorable completion of a polygraph
• authorized to work in the U.S.
• Experience using the Linux CLI and Tools
• Experience writing scripts using Bash/Python
• Experience designing and implementing Java solutions
• Experience with Apache NiFi system administration
• Experience using Apache NiFi canvas to process and distribute data
• Experience creating, managing, and troubleshooting complex operational data flows
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
Preferred:
• Experience with Corporate data flow processes and tools
• Experience with Corporate data security and compliance procedures and policies
• Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and maintain Perl scripts and applications
• Fluent in sarcasm, kindness, and the occasional office banter
