Controller – Crypto Startup

We are a profitable cryptocurrency-based startup with 100+ employees, growing at an exciting pace. We're seeking a Controller to manage the accounting function + team, as we look to scale our company to the next level. You'll report directly to the CFO and lead a growing team of about 5 accounting professionals. Are you the type of person that would love the challenge and thrill of joining an early-stage startup? Accounting

  • Manage General Ledger: revenue recognition, billing and accounts receivable, payroll and payable functions.
  • Review contracts to enable for correct billing and coding records
  • Close out the month and reconcile to cash.
  • Create Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Statement (I/S, B/S, C/F)
  • Ability to deal with and account for multiple currencies.
  • Account for and track subsidiaries (Cayman Insurance, Indian Sub) and consolidate Financial Statements
  • Handle intercompany transfers, internal expense tracking, and allocations.
  • Implement system improvements, upgrades, and conversions.
  • Attend to overdue A/R collections.
  • Work with auditors and tax preparers.

Finance

  • Manage banking, tax, and legal relationships.
  • Oversee the management of lease, contracts, and other financial commitments.
  • Establish standard methodologies, governance and system enabling reporting metrics
  • Perform budgeting, forecasting, and business models that provide insights into existing and forward-looking business initiatives including measuring business results and key success metrics.
  • Track actual vs. budgets
  • Oversee internal audits and controls.
  • Negotiate lines of credit.
  • Establish best practices.

Reporting

  • Compile management reports, board report reviews, and financial presentations.
  • Perform tracking and analysis of cash burn and variance reporting.
  • Maintain the company dashboard and monitor company metrics and KPIs.
  • Assist with options management and assist with any cap table needs.

Skills We're Seeking

  • CPA
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • 8+ total years of experience with accounting
  • 4+ years of experience as a Controller, or Accounting Manager/Director
  • Experience working for an early stage startup and/or a fast growing company, with the ability to manage change, and organize processes in fluid environments
