Dignitas specializes in system and software analysis, design, development, testing, fielding, and courseware for Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training applications.

The Mid Systems Engineer will play a critical role in the planning, development, and execution of delivery orders (DOs), contributing as a hands-on engineer. This individual will be responsible for assisting in systems engineering efforts across the full lifecycle, from initial concept and requirements development through testing, verification, and final delivery. The ideal candidate has solid experience in systems engineering, enjoys solving complex technical problems, and can work independently with moderate supervision.

This role requires close collaboration with internal teams and government stakeholders and may involve occasional travel to customer sites or test events. A hybrid work environment is possible when not required to be on-site for customer meetings or test events. The program reserves the right to require on-site work if program execution and success dictates.

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


  • Design, integrate, and support systems for military simulation system applications
  • Translate mission and operational needs into system requirements, architectures, and technical solutions
  • Perform system decomposition, interface definition, and integration activities
  • Support verification and validation (V&V), including test planning, execution, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with government standards, cybersecurity requirements, and program specifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, graphics, and program management
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation (e.g., CDRLs)
  • Participate in design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and technical interchange meetings
  • Troubleshoot system-level issues and support root cause analysis in lab and field environments
  • Contribute to risk management, configuration control, and change management processes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–6 years of experience in systems engineering, preferably in defense or aerospace programs
  • Experience with system lifecycle processes (requirements, design, integration, test, sustainment)
  • Familiarity with systems engineering standards (e.g., INCOSE, MIL-STD, or DoD frameworks)
  • Experience with development in high fidelity game engines (Unity Preferred)
  • Experience with requirements management tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, interface control documents, and specifications
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on system reliability and performance

  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies
  • Familiarity with systems engineering standards (e.g., INCOSE, ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288)
  • Prior experience supporting defense or aerospace programs

  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance
