Job description

About the Role:
At Toshiba, our products power critical infrastructure-and our training ensures customers and employees can operate them safely, effectively, and confidently.
As a Senior Technical Trainer, you will serve as a subject matter expert and educator, delivering high-impact training programs across classroom, field, and virtual environments. You'll play a key role in product launches, customer success, and workforce capability development, while designing modern, engaging technical learning experiences.
This role is ideal for a hands-on technical expert who enjoys teaching, influencing, and driving continuous improvement in training programs.
What You'll Do:
  • Deliver Technical Training: Lead instructor-led training for customers, distributors, and employees across in-person, virtual, and webinar formats
  • Curriculum Development: Design and continuously improve courseware, including lesson plans, manuals, training schedules, and certification assessments
  • Product Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on current and legacy products, translating complex technical concepts into clear, practical instruction
  • Customer Engagement: Build strong relationships with customers by providing consultative guidance on product application, maintenance, and best practices
  • Support Product Launches: Partner with Engineering, Product Management, and Sales to develop and deliver training for new product introductions
  • Virtual Learning Leadership: Plan and deliver webinars and remote learning events to support global sales and distribution teams
  • Training Operations: Maintain training labs, demo equipment, and instructional materials to ensure a high-quality learning environment
  • Process & Program Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance training effectiveness, scalability, and learner engagement
  • Cost Awareness: Provide input on cost-effective training delivery and operational efficiencies
  • Travel: 25-50% (Domestic & International)

What You Bring:
Education:
  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent military training required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience:
  • 8-10 years of experience in technical training, field service, engineering, or related discipline

Certifications (Preferred):
  • Instructional or courseware development certifications (Langevin, ATD/ASTD, CSTD, or equivalent)

Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of electrical and/or mechanical systems
  • Experience using electronic test equipment and hand tools

  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
