Job description

Position Overview
The Birmingham Bulls is seeking a creative, driven, and detail-oriented Digital Content Manager to lead publishing processes, website management, community content management and analytics tracking related to digital platforms, while working with leadership to develop reporting systems that improve decision-making and maximize the organization's digital strategy. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of social media and digital content, with a developed understanding of content that will perform well across various digital platforms based on both creativity and analytics. The candidate will serve a key role in creating and curating content from multiple sources to build industry-leading digital experiences across all platforms and will serve as the primary publisher and community content manager for the Bulls' social media channels and official website.
Key Responsibilities
  • Content Creation: Design compelling graphics, flyers, and digital assets using the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Social Media Management: Execute a consistent and engaging content strategy across all primary social channels (Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok).
  • Live Game Coverage: Capture real-time content, photography, and live-game updates during home games.
  • Video Production: Produce dynamic video content, including player highlights, promotional features, and behind-the-scenes material using Adobe Premiere and/or After Effects.
  • Digital Communications: Manage team website updates and write engaging copy for various platforms.
  • Mobile App Management: Manage team mobile app with updates scheduling and fan engagement.
  • Game Operations: Assist with day-of-game operational duties and support the broader front office team as needed.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in social media, digital media or content creation
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong understanding of major social platforms and digital content strategy
  • Experience managing brand accounts in a fast-paced, real-time environment
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite or comparable content creation tools
  • Strong photo, video and digital editing skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and storytelling abilities
  • Motivated attitude and professional appearance
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and/or After Effects).
  • Ability to work traditional weekday office hours as well as nights and weekends for all home games during the season.
  • Graphic Design Portfolio and examples of social media content required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven background in sports digital storytelling and content strategy.
  • Strong professional writing and public speaking skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or a related field.
