What this job involves:

We're looking for an energetic, self-motivated Construction Project Manager to join our Houston markets team and help shape a brighter way for our clients and their built environments. In this role, you'll serve as the on-site Owner's Representative for assigned projects, managing the complete construction lifecycle from programming through close-out. You'll be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered within budget, on schedule, and aligned with both client objectives and JLL's standards of excellence. Your day will involve coordinating between clients and all project participants-including consultants, contractors, vendors, and jurisdictional agencies-while maintaining the highest level of communication and professionalism. This position requires someone who can work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team structure, bringing strong technical knowledge and interpersonal skills to every interaction. You'll manage projects valued up to $25M across multiple project types, from ground-up construction to interior build-outs, while continuously seeking more innovative ways of working that drive efficiency and client satisfaction.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Lead professional planning and hands-on management for diverse projects including ground-up construction, interior build-outs, furniture installations, AV/IT systems, security, and signage

  • Develop and execute project-specific goals, schedules, budgets, strategies, and detailed methodologies that align with client objectives and ensure successful project delivery

  • Oversee contractor selection, negotiate contracts with consultants and vendors, and manage all financial aspects including cash flows, cost reports, and monthly client updates

  • Provide on-site supervision throughout construction to ensure performance criteria are met, schedules are maintained, and quality standards are upheld

  • Assemble and coordinate required teams of architects, engineers, contractors, and specialists while maintaining strong relationships and evaluating their performance

  • Create detailed project budgets based on historical data, market research, and client input, covering both hard and soft costs

  • Manage FF&E bidding, procurement, and implementation in collaboration with clients and design teams

  • Champion safety at all times across all project sites and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and JLL standards

  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely invoicing, payment processing, and monthly expense management

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as an owner's project manager or in a similar construction management role

  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes, architectural principles, and the commercial real estate industry

  • Ability to read, interpret, and work with construction plans, specifications, and technical documents

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project software

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with executive-level internal and external clients

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to manage client relationships and resolve conflicts effectively

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize competing needs and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to visit active job sites regularly and engage in daily client and contractor interactions

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management

  • Experience managing both corporate interior projects and small ground-up construction projects

  • Previous experience serving as an Owner's Representative

  • Proven track record managing projects valued up to $25M

  • Familiarity with various project management software solutions and ability to adapt to client-preferred platforms
