Job description

About The Role
  • Design and develop neutral beam injection systems, including ion sources, beam optics, vacuum system and beam dumps
  • Design high‑voltage components (100 kV–1 MV class systems)
  • Develop thermal management solutions for high‑power‑density components
  • Collaborate with physicists to integrate beam line components in the NB injector
  • Prototyping, testing, and commissioning of beamline systems
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in design or mechanical engineering or related field
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Charged particle beam systems
    • Plasma sources (especially ion sources)
    • High‑voltage engineering
    • Solid Works or Catia
    • Simulation tools such as COMSOL Multiphysics, ANSYS, or similar
  • 5‑10 years professional experience in an engineering role (design, analysis, test or manufacturing)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with neutral beam injection systems or fusion devices
  • Knowledge of RF ion sources or negative ion generation, high power flux dumps, magnetic confinement systems (tokamaks, stellarators)
  • Hands‑on experience with high‑power test systems and high‑voltage systems

Compensation for this position may include a base salary in the range of $135,000 – $160,000, with additional elements such as equity participation and performance‑based rewards.
