Job description

COMSOL, Inc. is looking for an intern to join the Product Information Department. This internship offers hands-on experience proofreading, testing, and improving COMSOL tutorials that help users learn COMSOL Multiphysics software through clear, accurate, step-by-step instructions. In this role, you will review tutorial documentation for clarity, consistency, technical accuracy, and usability. You will also test tutorials in COMSOL Multiphysics to verify that the software steps, model setup, results, and instructions work as intended. The tutorials you support may cover a wide range of physics and engineering areas, including electromagnetics, structural mechanics, acoustics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and chemical engineering.
COMSOL's internship program is available for current and incoming college students. This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities
  • Proofread COMSOL tutorials and suggest corrections and improvements for grammar, clarity, style, formatting, and consistency.
  • Test tutorial instructions in COMSOL Multiphysics to confirm that each step can be followed successfully and produces the expected results.
  • Identify unclear, incomplete, or inaccurate instructions and communicate recommended changes to the Product Information and Development teams.
  • Review screenshots, model settings, plots, results, and explanatory text for accuracy and alignment with the tutorial workflow.
  • Help ensure that tutorials are accessible to users by improving step-by-step instructions and flagging places where additional explanation may be helpful.
  • Work with technical writers and subject matter experts to support the overall quality of tutorial documentation.
  • Contribute to tutorial quality across application areas such as electromagnetics, structural mechanics, acoustics, CFD, and chemical engineering.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to proofread technical material carefully.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow detailed, step-by-step instructions.
  • Interest in engineering simulation, technical documentation, and software quality.
  • Ability to learn new software tools and troubleshoot issues while following tutorial workflows.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Current eligibility to work in USA; no sponsorship for employment-based visas will be offered for this position. Preferred Qualifications
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, applied mathematics, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • Coursework or project experience in electromagnetics, structural mechanics, acoustics, CFD, chemical engineering, or adjacent fields.
  • Familiarity with COMSOL Multiphysics or other engineering simulation, CAD, or CAE software.
  • Experience writing, editing, or reviewing technical instructions, lab reports, documentation, or tutorials. Duration & Compensation

Compensation: This is a paid internship at $20/hour for up to 29 hours per week.
Duration: Monday, June 15th, 2026 - Friday, August 21st, 2026.
