Responsibilities:
  • Direct supervision of three or less warehouse/driver associates. Participates in hiring process and formal performance evaluations. Approve timecards, create schedules as necessary.
  • Ensuring the warehouse is secure, maintaining equipment and vehicles, and ensuring their safe use.
  • Following federal, state, and local regulations for warehousing, shipping, and material handling.
  • Creating systems for organization and communication and ensuring efficient space utilization.
  • Maintaining health and safety standards, safety training certifications and ensuring the safety of staff.
  • Read customer orders to determine items to be gathered and distributed.
  • Convey materials and items from receiving areas to storage areas.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks or other storage areas according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or in boxes. Convey orders to staging areas and/or onto trucks for delivery.
  • Mark materials with identifying information.
  • Record amount of materials or items received and distributed.
  • Perform data entry of records into the computer.
  • Complete requisition forms to order materials from other company locations.
  • Prepare parcels for mail. Perform physical counts of existing inventory and maintains inventory records.
  • Act as back-up when delivery driver is unavailable.

Desired Skills and Experience
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the company's insurance carrier
  • Must frequently lift and move 20 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds
  • High school diploma or equivalent or at least one year of warehouse experience managing hourly employees
  • Proficiency with warehouse policies and procedures
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills
  • The ability to collaborate with all levels of company staff
  • The ability to provide effective feedback
  • Forklift driving experience is preferred
