changing temperatures within
a warehouse environment.
Direct Reports: Lead Warehouse Associate

Position Summary:
Directs the day-to-day operation of the warehouse with particular emphasis on managing warehouse associates and implementing warehouse action plans.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
  1. Provides direct daily supervision of warehouse associates to achieve prescribed operational objectives within established timelines and in accordance with quality, safety, inventory control and customer satisfaction guidelines.
  2. Develops and implements work schedules and assignments to meet customer demands.
  3. Tours the warehouse regularly to answer questions, evaluate operations and solve problems, and ensure compliance with safety, security and sanitation procedures.
  4. Makes recommendations to the Operations Manager on programs and procedures to improve warehouse operations.
  5. Ensures efficient utilization of equipment.
  6. Schedules and conducts staff meetings.
  7. Tracks and manages employee paid time off and absenteeism
  8. Participates in the interview process and makes hiring recommendations to the Operations Manager.
  9. Through coordination with Operations Manager, establishes employee goals, provides coaching and training, conducts performance reviews and performs disciplinary action.
  10. Ensures current and accurate inventory count and location for each account.
  11. Enforces and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and federal, state and local regulations.
  12. Establishes and maintains a professional and courteous relationship with all customers.
  13. Assists in ensuring the security of the facility and its employees, contents and surroundings.
  14. Ensure there is training program in place and documented for all job functions
  15. Ensure Safety program is in compliance with VG Management requirements.

Job Specifications:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Minimum of 3 years prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
  3. Demonstrated skills in leadership, supervision, organization and planning.
  4. Understanding of warehouse operations and warehouse management system technology.
  5. Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office and software applications, and accurate typing skills (25 wpm minimum).
  6. Ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Ability to work efficiently with a professional, customer friendly attitude.
  8. Must be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods.
