Job Description

Position Summary

Tiger-Sul is a subsidiary of Tessenderlo Kerley and is seeking a Shipping Warehouse Operations - Day Shift plant worker.

The Shipping Warehouse Operations employee is responsible for safely and efficiently managing all inbound and outbound shipments while maintaining accurate inventory control, documentation, and warehouse organization. This position plays a critical role in supporting plant operations by ensuring products are loaded correctly, materials are received accurately, and all shipping and receiving activities comply with company safety standards, quality requirements, and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping Responsibilities

  • Verify customer pickup numbers, destinations, lot numbers, quality sheets, and load requirements prior to loading trucks.
  • Ensure outbound shipments comply with weight limits, shipping specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Inspect trailers, flooring, pallets, packaging, shrink wrap, and product condition before loading.
  • Verify product labels, pallet counts, lot numbers, and shipping documentation for accuracy.
  • Secure outbound shipments using required load bars, straps, and other safety devices.
  • Accurately complete bills of lading (BOLs), scale tickets, pallet inspection sheets, and shipping paperwork.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free loading and dock areas.

Receiving Responsibilities

  • Verify incoming shipments against bills of lading and receiving documentation.
  • Inspect incoming materials, pallets, and packaging for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
  • Coordinate safe and efficient unloading of raw materials and deliveries.
  • Report damaged materials, spills, shortages, or shipment discrepancies to management immediately.
  • Properly stage, label, and organize received materials for storage or production use.
  • Maintain organized warehouse storage practices and proper inventory rotation.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety procedures and safe forklift operating practices.
  • Properly use wheel chocks, glad hand locks, dock plates/blades, and all required PPE.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards throughout warehouse, dock, and loading areas.
  • Report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, near misses, or incidents immediately.
  • Ensure trucks and trailers are properly secured before loading or unloading begins.
  • Follow all plant policies, SOPs, and operational procedures.

Warehouse & Inventory

  • Assist with warehouse organization and inventory control activities.
  • Perform routine inspections of pallets, storage areas, and warehouse conditions.
  • Stage finished goods and raw materials to support production and shipping schedules.
  • Assist in minimizing damaged product, inventory loss, and shipping errors.
  • Support accurate inventory tracking and documentation processes.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Forklift operating experience required.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and follow safety procedures.
  • Basic understanding of shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures.
  • Ability to inspect product quality, labels, pallets, and packaging accurately.
  • Basic computer, data entry, and paperwork documentation skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Shipping Schedule

  • Standard shipping and receiving hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
  • Truck drivers may be permitted to arrive outside normal shipping hours with Plant Management approval.
