Job description

Summary: The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading and directing all warehouse operations within the distribution center. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, productivity, and compliance with company policies while maintaining a safe, organized, and high performing work environment. The Warehouse Manager oversees warehouse supervisors and staff, manages operational workflows, drives KPI performance, and partners cross functionally to support business objectives. This position ensures effective execution of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Warehouse Manager reports to the Director of Warehouse & Distribution Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all daily warehouse operations including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, replenishment, inventory movement, and material handling.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Warehouse Supervisors and warehouse staff to ensure consistent performance, accountability, and adherence to company standards.
  • Ensure all department standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed and that all transactions are processed accurately through the WMS.
  • Monitor operational KPIs, analyze performance trends, and implement action plans to improve productivity, accuracy, and service levels.
  • Partner with Inventory, Customer Service, Transportation, and other departments to resolve discrepancies, order issues, and operational challenges.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard free warehouse environment; enforce all safety procedures, compliance requirements, and company policies.
  • Oversee staffing levels, scheduling, attendance, and performance management for warehouse teams.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, optimize space utilization, and support business growth.
  • Ensure proper training and certification for equipment operation, including pallet jacks, forklifts, shrink wrap machines, RF scanners, and other warehouse tools.
  • Conduct regular audits of processes, inventory accuracy, and quality standards to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
  • Prepare and deliver operational reports, performance updates, and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Support budget planning, cost control, and resource management to ensure efficient warehouse operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support distribution center operations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of warehouse or distribution center experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory flow, order fulfillment, and distribution best practices.
  • Ability to create a positive work environment and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability for both self and team.
  • Proficiency with WMS or ERP systems; strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and teambuilding skills with the ability to motivate and develop employees.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, warehouse safety standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret reports, metrics, and operational data to drive decision making.
  • Mental resilience to manage high volume operations, time sensitive deadlines, and complex problem solving demands.
  • Must be able to pass a background check to become a Designated Representative to ensure compliance with Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA).
  • Excellent time management skills including planning, punctuality and attendance.

Work Environment: The work environment is an indoor warehouse, and the employee is exposed to a temperature-controlled climate. The floors may be concrete, laminate or carpeted in the warehouse and interior office. Exposure to moderate noise, moving equipment, in a fast-paced environment requiring adaptability, multi-tasking, and cross-functional collaboration. The employee must learn and follow safety protocols and is subject to random drug testing.

Work Hours: The standard work schedule is 5 days a week, 8 hours a day. Work hours and shifts are subject to change depending on operating business conditions, work volume and company needs. The employee may be required to work overtime on mornings/evenings, over holidays or weekends.

Physical and Mental Demands: Active. Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time. Must be able to consistently lift 35 pounds. Constant use of the upper extremities is required to reach, handle and position products, materials, tools, equipment, pushing cart and computer systems. Must always wear safety vest and closed-toed shoes on the warehouse floor. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force to move objects. The ability to use or operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, corner board cutters & shrink wrap machines and a Forklift (if applicable).

Supervisory Responsibilities: The Warehouse Manager directly oversees the Warehouse Supervisors and indirectly all Warehouse Associates within the Omaha, NE Distribution Center.
