Direct Reports:   Warehouse Supervisor(s)               

Position Summary:

Directs all Warehouse operations with particular emphasis on managing warehouse, inventory, MHE, MHO associates, dock activity, and implementing Warehouse action plans. Packaging’s warehouse encompasses all inbound, outbound, inventory, and MHO/MHE management. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  1. Provides direct daily guidance of warehouse associates to achieve prescribed operational objectives within established timelines and in accordance with quality, safety, inventory control and customer satisfaction guidelines.
  2. Develops and implements work schedules and assignments to meet customer demands.
  3. Tours the warehouse regularly to answer questions, evaluate operations and solve problems, and ensure compliance with safety, security and sanitation procedures.
  4. Recommends and implements improvements to warehouse operation, dock, and inventory health programs.
  5. Ensures efficient utilization of Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
  6. Schedules and conducts staff meetings.
  7. Tracks and manages employee time off and absenteeism where necessary
  8. Responsible for interviews and direct hiring for the Warehouse department in collaboration with site leadership.
  9. Through coordination with site leadership, establishes department goals, provides department coaching and training, conducts performance reviews and performs disciplinary action.
  10. Ensures current and accurate inventory counts through inventory health programs - including quick consume cycle count programs.
  11. Enforces and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and federal, state and local regulations.
  12. Establishes and maintains a professional and courteous relationship with all customers.
  13. Assists in ensuring the security of the facility and its employees, contents and surroundings. 

Job Specifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent work-related experience preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5 years prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
  3. Minimum of 2 years prior experience in leadership and supervisory roles; organization and planning.
  4. Knowledge of warehouse operations, ERP transactions, and user interface for warehouse management system technology.
  5. Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and misc. software applications.
  6. Ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Ability to work efficiently with a professional, customer friendly attitude.
  8. Must be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods.
  9. Strong problem solving, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
