Location: Troy, Michigan (Hybrid Schedule | Relocation Not Available)

Salary Range: $80,000 โ€“ $95,000 Base Salary + Annual Bonus Potential

Job Summary:

MS Companies is seeking an Account Manager on behalf of a stable, globally established automotive manufacturing organization supporting major OEM and Tier-1 customer programs throughout North America.

This role supports a commercial account management team responsible for developing customer quotations, preparing cost analyses, managing RFQ/RFP activity, supporting profitability objectives, and maintaining strong customer relationships within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in automotive account management, procurement, purchasing, commercial operations, pricing, costing, or related manufacturing functions. This individual will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Finance, and customer teams to develop competitive pricing strategies, support new business opportunities, and drive long-term commercial success.

This opportunity is well-suited for a self-driven professional who enjoys analytical problem solving, customer interaction, and continuous learning within a collaborative automotive manufacturing environment.

This hybrid position is based in Troy, Michigan, with in-office collaboration expected Tuesday through Thursday and remote flexibility on Mondays and Fridays. Limited overnight travel may occasionally be required.


Required Skills & Qualifications

โ— Minimum 2โ€“5 years of experience within automotive manufacturing, commercial operations, account management, procurement, purchasing, supply chain, pricing, cost analysis, or related functions

โ— Experience developing customer quotations, pricing proposals, cost breakdowns, or commercial analyses within a manufacturing environment

โ— Experience supporting RFQ and/or RFP activities, quotation development, and commercial pricing initiatives

โ— Strong understanding of product costing, margin analysis, profitability evaluation, and pricing strategy development

โ— Experience working directly with automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or customer-facing manufacturing organizations

โ— Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of PowerPoint, Outlook, and reporting tools

โ— Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

โ— Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn with strong follow-through and accountability

โ— Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship


Preferred Skills & Qualifications

โ— Experience supporting major automotive OEM customer programs and related supply chains

โ— Background in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, commodity management, strategic buying, or commercial account management

โ— Experience utilizing customer portals, ERP systems, pricing tools, quoting systems, or commercial business platforms

โ— Experience supporting new product launches, engineering changes, product cost development, or manufacturing program management activities

โ— Familiarity with manufacturing cost structures, material pricing, cost modeling methodologies, and profitability analysis

โ— Experience supporting automotive components, engineered products, plastics, fastening systems, or related manufacturing products

โ— Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, or related field preferred

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

โ— Develop pricing proposals, quotations, and commercial analyses for new and existing customer programs

โ— Create detailed cost breakdowns utilizing material, labor, overhead, logistics, and operational cost inputs

โ— Support RFQ and RFP activities from customer request through quotation submission, review, and award support

โ— Evaluate profitability, margin performance, and commercial opportunities to support business objectives and pricing strategies

โ— Manage customer interactions through OEM and supplier portals while ensuring timely responses to commercial requests

โ— Partner with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Operations, and Program Management teams to develop accurate costing assumptions and pricing strategies

โ— Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and customer-driven commercial initiatives

โ— Maintain commercial documentation, quotation history, pricing records, and customer account information within internal business systems

โ— Serve as a key customer-facing liaison for pricing, quotation, and account-related activities while building strong professional relationships
