Outlet Manager - SEAM Coffee + Cocktails

Courtyard by Marriott Birmingham Grandview

Birmingham, AL • On-site

$55 - $85/hr

Job description

SEAM Coffee + Cocktails is a new neighborhood bar-room opening at the Courtyard & Residence Inn Grandview in Birmingham.

Named for the Big Seam of red iron ore running through Red Mountain, SEAM is rooted in Birmingham without becoming a theme restaurant. The idea is simple: credible coffee and breakfast in the morning, cocktails and craveable food after dark.

Easy to arrive. Easy to order. Worth staying for.

We are looking for an Outlet Manager who can take ownership of the day-to-day operation and help establish what SEAM becomes.

The Role

This is a hands-on operating position.

The Outlet Manager will lead the SEAM team across breakfast and evening service, own the guest experience, maintain operating standards, and keep the business disciplined behind the scenes.

You should be equally comfortable coaching a bartender through service, checking a morning coffee setup, reviewing labor, counting inventory, talking with a hotel guest, and jumping behind the bar when the room gets busy.

SEAM is intentionally focused. We are not trying to operate a massive restaurant menu or overcomplicate service. The job is to make a tight concept run exceptionally well.

What You'll Own
  • Lead daily breakfast, coffee, cocktail, and dinner operations
  • Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and develop the SEAM team
  • Create a warm, direct guest experience without scripted hotel hospitality
  • Maintain fast, obvious, and consistent bar-centered service
  • Build genuine coffee credibility during the morning shift
  • Maintain strong cocktail, beer, wine, and beverage execution at night
  • Protect recipe, presentation, and service standards
  • Manage labor to established productivity targets
  • Own inventory, ordering, receiving, pars, waste, and cost controls
  • Maintain accurate food and beverage inventories
  • Work closely with culinary leadership on product quality and execution
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, opening/closing procedures, and food safety standards
  • Help drive local awareness and repeat business beyond hotel guests
  • Support catering, events, and other revenue opportunities connected to the outlet
  • Partner effectively with hotel leadership while protecting SEAM's identity as its own concept
  • Identify problems early, communicate clearly, and take ownership of the solution
What We're Looking For

We care more about your ability to operate than the name of the places on your résumé.

Strong candidates will have:

  • Restaurant, bar, café, or hotel food & beverage leadership experience
  • A working understanding of beverage operations
  • Experience managing labor, inventory, ordering, and cost controls
  • Strong floor presence and the willingness to work alongside the team
  • High standards without unnecessary complexity
  • Confidence coaching and holding people accountable
  • An eye for detail and consistency
  • The ability to move between morning and evening operations
  • Comfort working in an opening environment where systems are still being built

Coffee knowledge, cocktail experience, and new-opening experience are strongly preferred.

The Person Who Will Succeed Here

You like a busy room.

You notice when the bar is falling behind before the tickets pile up. You know when labor is too heavy. You know what is sitting in the walk-in and why. You can teach standards without turning every conversation into a lecture.

Most importantly, you take ownership.

SEAM is being built around controlled premium, craveable restraint, and repeatable execution. We want someone who understands that great operations are rarely flashy. They are consistent.

Coffee to start. Cocktails to finish.

Come help us build something Birmingham will choose twice a day.
