Job description

Jennmar Services is looking for an experienced project coordinator in Marissa, IL. These are full time positions with competitive pay and benefits available.

The Underground Coal Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting and coordinating day-to-day underground mining operations, workforce management, safety compliance, customer communication, and project execution. This position serves as a key link between mine management, contractors, staffing personnel, and company leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily underground labor and operational activities to support production goals.
  • Communicate withmine managementregardingstaffing needs, scheduling, and workforce performance.
  • Monitor project timelines,manpowerlevels, and operational progress.
  • Track attendance, turnover, call-offs, and workforce availability.
  • Support operational planning for maintenance outages, production changes, and special projects.
  • Promote and enforce all MSHA regulations, company safety policies, and mine site procedures.
  • Coordinaterequired underground safety training and certifications.
  • Assistwith incident investigations and corrective action tracking.
  • Ensure employees are equipped withrequiredPPE and safety equipment.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for underground employees andminesupervisors.
  • Assistwith employee coaching, discipline documentation, and performance evaluations.
  • Support recruiting and retention initiatives for underground labor positions.
  • Maintain project reports, staffing metrics, and operational documentation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GEDrequired.
  • Previousunderground coal mining experiencerequired. Min. 3 years
  • Experience in operations coordination, project management, staffing,or minesupervision preferred.
  • Strong understanding of MSHA regulations and underground mine safety practices.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with mine management and workforce personnel.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability toworkflexible schedules, including nights and weekends when operationally necessary.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s licenserequired.

Preferred Skills

  • Leadership experience in underground coal operations.
  • Knowledge of workforce scheduling and labor coordination.
  • Ability to work under pressure in high-demand production environments.
