About the Role:

This position is being recruited in anticipation of a contract award. The Cybersecurity & Cloud Operations Manager provides technical leadership for cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure operations, compliance, and secure hosting capabilities supporting the Department of War Education (DoWEA) Education Platform modernization initiative. This role is responsible for ensuring secure, reliable, and resilient cloud operations while maintaining compliance with Federal cybersecurity requirements and industry best practices.

Location:

  • Washington, DC Metropolitan Area (Hybrid)
  • Candidates must reside in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. This position follows a hybrid work schedule and requires onsite support at a Government-designated location in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Clearance Requirements:

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Applicants selected for this position must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a Government background investigation and all applicable security requirements.

Salary Range:

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $80,000–$175,000 annually.
  • Final compensation has not yet been determined and will be based on factors including contract award, position requirements, the candidate's qualifications, experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage secure cloud infrastructure and daily cloud operations supporting enterprise education technology platforms.
  • Lead cybersecurity compliance activities, including Risk Management Framework (RMF), Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA), and FedRAMP requirements.
  • Oversee vulnerability management, security monitoring, incident response, and remediation activities.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational resilience strategies.
  • Coordinate security assessments, audits, authorization activities, and continuous monitoring efforts.
  • Implement security and operational improvements that enhance platform availability, reliability, performance, and protection.
  • Collaborate with engineering, architecture, application, and Government teams to integrate security into cloud and application delivery processes.
  • Support Zero Trust security initiatives and secure cloud architecture practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to cybersecurity, cloud operations, and DevSecOps teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal cybersecurity policies, standards, and enterprise security requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting Federal cybersecurity and cloud environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting the Department of War Education (DoWEA).
  • Experience leading cloud operations and cybersecurity teams.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Federal cybersecurity regulations, policies, and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
