Aspirus Health in Wausau, WI is seeking a CHARGE MASTER COORDINATOR to join our REVENUE CYCLE team!
The Charge Master Coordinator reviews and maintains the Charge Master Service Item Master (SIM) or Wausau Regional Healthcare fee schedule, as appropriate, in order to maintain compliance with third party payer requirements, assuring accurate/complete revenue generation, and optimal efficiency in the billing and collection cycle.
HOURS: Full Time 1.0 FTE, 80 Hours Biweekly
Experience/Qualifications
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial standards normally acquired through completion of an Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Business or a medical related field desired.
  • Additional course work in general office management and computer usage.
  • Minimum of three to five years' experience with insurance billing and/or coding.
  • Two years in a training or supervisory role with thorough understanding and use of a computer beneficial.
  • Possesses knowledge of various coding systems used in healthcare.
  • Possesses an overall knowledge of the functions and activities of hospitals and clinics.
  • Possesses a thorough working understanding of compliance issues and their importance and consequences.
  • Possesses detailed knowledge of various payment systems.
  • Possesses knowledge of reference resources for information relevant to compliance and Charge Masters, e.g., internet, Medicare manuals, provider handbooks, etc.
  • Possesses ability and skill to influence personnel through a collaborative but firm approach. In order to be effective, the Charge Master Coordinator will need to work not just independently, but with and through a diverse group of hospital personnel.
  • Possesses an overall understanding of financial management and reporting in healthcare organizations.
  • Ability to obtain EPIC Charge Master Certification within 6 months of hire.
  • CPC coding certification beneficial.
