Key Responsibilities:
The Analyst of Cargo Logistics Strategy plays a pivotal role in aligning the Cargo Division's strategic goals by fostering collaboration with stakeholders at every level, from Senior Management to Front Line Leaders, across key functional areas including Sales, Operations, Revenue Management, Finance, and Contact Centers. The role is crucial in supporting the division's strategy through the strategic use of data. Specifically, the job involves managing the budget for Unit Load Device (ULD) Leasing, Repairs, and Accessories, which requires accurate forecasting of expenses and collaboration with operational personnel to maintain budgetary control. The individual in this role must adeptly analyze data to guide decision-making, identify cost-saving measures, and develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure strict budget adherence.
ULD Oversight and Optimization
  • Support in the development of strategic forecasting/planning models to drive optimization of ULD assets.
  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve analytical insights and solutions to ensure ULD Compliance for Global Operations team
  • Collaborate with assigned contacts from Operations, Revenue Management, Sales and Cargo Logistics teammates to deliver support on business projects.

RFS Oversight and Optimization
  • Support in the development of strategic forecasting/planning models to support optimization of RFS trucking network
  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve analytical insights and solutions to drive RFS operational performance improvements and cost mitigation
  • Partner with trucking carriers to achieve incremental performance improvements through leveraging consistent performance reporting and reviews
  • Manage weekly reporting and collaborate with stakeholders to provide performance metrics for decision makers to consider and drive decisions to ensure alignment with fiscal year strategy
  • Business process mapping, optimization, and automation
  • Analytics reporting and visualization (dashboarding)
  • Data management and storage through databases
  • Data and reporting preparation for leadership presentations

Note: This is a Chicago-based hybrid role, with in-office requirements 50% of the time.
Qualifications
What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience in Business, Finance, Analytics, Engineering, Economics or related field
  • 1+ years of related analytical work experience
  • Data visualization software (Spotfire, PowerBI, Tableau, or similar)
  • Analytical mindset, data analysis skills
  • Ability to tell a story using reporting and other data visualization tools
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
  • MBA or Advanced degree in Analytics or Finance preferred
  • 2+ years of analytical related work
  • Scripting language proficiency (Python, R, SQL, Alteryx or similar)
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of generative AI tools and effectively leverages them to support research, analysis, content creation, and problem-solving. Apply critical thinking to validate AI-generated outputs while adhering to organizational policies for responsible AI use, data privacy, and security.
