The Lead IT Business Analyst serves as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams. This role is responsible for leading requirements management, business process analysis, solution evaluation, and delivery support across multiple initiatives. The Lead BA position also mentors other analysts, creates and enables repeatable processes and promotes enterprise standards and best practices.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $98,400/yr - $199,000/yr plus bonus. The base salary indicated for this position reflects the compensation range applicable to all levels of the role across the United States. Actual salary offers within this range may vary based on a number of factors, including the specific responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant skills and professional experience, educational qualifications, and geographic location

Key Responsibilities

Core Business Analysis Responsibilities:

  • Lead requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation for IT initiatives
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and process mapping sessions
  • Translate business needs into functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Develop business process models, workflows, and gap analyses
  • Maintain requirements traceability and support testing and UAT
  • Partner with project managers, architects, developers, QA, and vendors
  • Support solution evaluations, vendor selection, and business cases

Leadership & Mentoring:

  • Mentor and coach Business Analysts
  • Lead cross-functional analysis efforts
  • Promote consistent BA standards, tools, and templates

Governance & Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and governance
  • Support regulatory, risk, and audit requirements (SOX, GLBA) 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field, or 10 years of relevant experience in a related role
  • 8+ years of IT business analysis experience
  • 2+ years in a senior or lead BA role
  • Strong experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, Visio, and MS Office
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and analytical skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CBAP, PMI-PBA, or equivalent certification
  • Experience in financial services or regulated environments
  • Experience with vendor-hosted / SaaS platforms
  • Jira
