Job Overview:
This position is responsible for exemplifying Bluemercury's customer service philosophy at the store level, maximizing revenue and providing a high standard of customer service and operational excellence. You will lead a team of knowledgeable, well-trained, enthusiastic and customer focused sales and spa associates. This role oversees 6-15 stores and direct reports and reports to the Regional Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership Responsibilities
  • Manage District profitability by maximizing revenues and validating that accurate cost controls are in place.
  • Drive results by communicating with Store Managers, Retail Sales and Spa team virtually and in store.
  • Strategic Business Planning- partners with regional leadership to execute district strategies and develops plans to improve performance.
  • Coordinate and supervise execution of vendor events, Grand Opening activities, and customer appreciation events.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely reporting of sales results, inventory management and communication of any issues that disrupt the smooth flow of operations.
  • Manages and nurtures external vendor relationships within the store environment.
  • Plans time to devote 80% of the week to be in stores working with Store Managers and Sales Associates; 20% of time devoted to administrative responsibilities that support the smooth flow of operations.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Merchandising, HR, Store Operations, and EDU to drive district performance.
  • Act as the 'voice of the field', providing feedback on business needs.
  • Drive growth of proprietary brands (M-61, Lune + Aster) through focused selling behaviors, team education, and client engagement.

People Responsibilities
  • Responsible for planning staffing levels at district and store level utilizing budgeted payroll for optimal service and sales.
  • Contributes to a positive and engaging company culture that celebrates our values and expectations.
  • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and hiring Area Managers, Store Managers, Sales Associates and Spa staff.
  • Responsible for onboarding administrative tasks and onboarding training of new hires.
  • Responsible for performance management- ongoing coaching and development, accountability and performance review of Store Managers, Sales Associates and Spa Staff.
  • Responsible for talent development, to ensure internal development paths are available and achieved.
  • Must be a strong partner to Human Resources to ensure compliance and adherence to labor laws.

Operational Responsibilities
  • Responsible for overall operational execution at the store level.
  • Ensures execution of Bluemercury policies and procedures in each store.
  • Ensures adequate and timely schedules are written for efficient and optimal execution.
  • Executes regular compliance audits, ensures deadlines and due dates are met.
  • Communicates needs and concerns consistently with corporate cross functional partners.

Client Responsibilities
  • Model and uphold Bluemercury client service philosophy of friendly, honest expertise supported by outstanding service and sampling.
  • Model the Bluemercury mission in all interactions with internal and external customers.
  • Responsible for a high level of execution in Customer Service, Staff Management, Training and Development, Product Knowledge, Visual Merchandising, Inventory Control, and Vendor support.
  • Direct all store activities that build customer loyalty and rely on strong customer participation, which include vendor events, marketing efforts, and community events.

Strategic Business Planning
  • Partner with regional leadership to execute district strategies.
  • Develop district-level plans to improve performance.
  • Optimize staffing, payroll, and resources.
  • Forecast sales and manage budgets.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of leadership in multi-unit management, selling high- end cosmetics and skincare.
  • Ability to travel to multiple store locations.
  • Must be a hands-on leader with an entrepreneurial spirit, high- energy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated results in previous leadership roles.
  • A proven ability to train and lead all levels of store team; to include Store Manager, Estheticians, and Beauty Experts/ sales team.
  • Outstanding communications skills, both verbal and listening.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic, ever-changing, high growth environment.
  • Commitment to providing expert customer service, quality operations and an unparalleled level of professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills and conflict resolution skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and must be available to work Saturdays.
