Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager / BIM Manager to join its architectural team in Phoenix, Arizona. This leadership role is ideal for an accomplished architectural professional with extensive experience managing commercial projects while overseeing Building Information Modeling (BIM) standards, project coordination, and construction documentation.

The Project Manager / BIM Manager will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary project teams, coordinating consultants and clients, maintaining BIM standards across all project models, and ensuring architectural designs are accurately translated into high-quality presentation and construction documents. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, project management, leadership, and advanced BIM knowledge.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial office and multi-story building projects, exceptional Revit proficiency, and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects while maintaining design quality, project schedules, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Manage architectural projects from design development through construction documentation and project completion.

  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams including architects, designers, engineers, consultants, and contractors.

  • Coordinate project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout project execution.

  • Conduct project meetings and coordinate communication between internal teams and external consultants.

  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful project completion.

  • Identify project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.

  • Maintain strong client relationships while ensuring project expectations are exceeded.

BIM Management

  • Develop, implement, and maintain company BIM standards and best practices.

  • Manage Revit project templates, families, libraries, and BIM workflows.

  • Perform BIM model audits and quality assurance reviews.

  • Ensure all project models comply with company BIM standards and documentation protocols.

  • Coordinate BIM collaboration among architectural and engineering disciplines.

  • Resolve BIM-related technical issues and provide support to project teams.

  • Lead BIM coordination meetings and clash detection processes.

  • Continuously improve BIM processes and implement new technologies that enhance project delivery.

Architectural Documentation

  • Translate conceptual architectural designs into accurate presentation drawings and construction documents.

  • Prepare and review architectural plans, elevations, sections, schedules, and technical details.

  • Coordinate construction documentation with structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing consultants.

  • Review drawing packages for quality, constructability, completeness, and code compliance.

  • Ensure project documentation accurately reflects the approved design intent.

  • Participate in permitting and plan review processes.

  • Assist during construction administration by responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and resolving design issues.

Team Leadership

  • Mentor junior architects, BIM specialists, and architectural staff.

  • Assign project responsibilities and monitor team performance.

  • Promote collaboration and continuous professional development.

  • Maintain quality control throughout all phases of project production.

  • Foster an efficient, organized, and team-oriented work environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of professional architectural experience.

  • Proven experience managing commercial office and multi-story building projects.

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture preferred.

  • Extensive experience leading architectural teams and coordinating multidisciplinary consultants.

  • Strong knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows and standards.

  • Practical understanding of construction methods, detailing, building systems, and engineering coordination.

  • Thorough knowledge of current building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting requirements.

  • Experience producing and reviewing construction documents.

  • Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and project management skills.

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent projects.
