About the Role
Voltage is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes within our rapidly growing wire harness and renewable energy operations. In this role, you will oversee the Manufacturing Engineering team while partnering cross-functionally to ensure safe, efficient, and scalable production. You'll play a key role in driving continuous improvement, production readiness, and long-term operational growth.
What You'll Do
  • Lead the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for wire harness assemblies and electrical systems.
  • Establish standardized work instructions, process flows, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Support new product introduction and transition from design into production.
  • Develop manufacturing routings, labor standards, and cycle times.
  • Troubleshoot production, equipment, and process-related issues.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
  • Partner with Production and Quality teams to improve throughput, efficiency, and first-pass yield.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Reduce scrap, rework, labor costs, and cycle times through process optimization.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs related to productivity, quality, and capacity utilization.
  • Lead automation and manufacturing equipment implementation projects.
  • Develop capacity plans, manufacturing layouts, and facility readiness strategies.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to ensure manufacturability (DFM).
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Quality to improve material flow and process controls.
  • Support audits, customer reviews, and technical evaluations.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage Manufacturing Engineering team members.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Background in wire harness, electrical assembly, automotive, electronics, or similar industries preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Experience with automation and manufacturing equipment implementation.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings; CAD experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
