Job Description:

We are seeking a Product Safety Test Engineer to support the safety testing, certification, and regulatory compliance of consumer electronics products. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring products meet global safety standards and certification requirements by conducting product safety evaluations, authoring compliance reports, and partnering with engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with international safety standards, CB Scheme certifications, laboratory testing, and consumer electronics products, with audio headset/headphone experience highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute product safety testing and compliance evaluations for consumer electronics products.
  • Drive compliance activities related to:
    • IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1
    • IEC/EN/UL/CSA 60950
    • IEC 62133
    • IEC 60065
  • Author CB Reports and support product certifications under the CB Scheme.
  • Perform hands-on safety testing using laboratory test equipment and established test procedures.
  • Interpret international safety standards and agency requirements to ensure product compliance.
  • Develop and execute test plans, document results, and prepare compliance reports.
  • Submit technical documentation and test reports to certifying agencies and address agency feedback.
  • Identify compliance risks and work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, quality, and program teams throughout the product development process.
  • Support certification efforts from prototype through production release.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience driving product compliance to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1, 60950, IEC 62133, and IEC 60065 standards.
  • Experience conducting product safety certifications and authoring CB Reports.
  • Experience executing safety testing of consumer electronic products under the CB Scheme.
  • Strong understanding of safety test equipment, laboratory procedures, and certification requirements.
  • Experience working with certification agencies and regulatory bodies.
  • Strong technical writing skills with experience preparing and submitting compliance documentation.
  • Proven ability to work independently while contributing effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience working within a Client Test Facility (CTF) Stage 3 environment.
  • Audio product experience, including music headsets, headphones, or wearable audio devices.
