Manager Asynchronous information

What is the difference between Manager Asynchronous vs Project Manager?

AspectManager AsynchronousProject Manager
CredentialsTypically requires leadership, communication, and organizational skills; certifications like PMP are common but not always requiredOften requires PMP or similar project management certifications
Work EnvironmentPrimarily remote or flexible, focusing on managing teams asynchronouslyUsually in-office or on-site, coordinating project timelines and resources
Industry UsageUsed across tech, marketing, and remote-first companiesCommon in construction, IT, and corporate sectors
Search & Comparison IntentPeople compare to understand remote management rolesPeople compare to understand traditional project oversight

Manager Asynchronous focuses on leading teams remotely with flexible schedules, emphasizing communication and task management without real-time oversight. Project Managers typically oversee specific projects, coordinating resources and timelines in more structured environments. While both roles require leadership and organizational skills, the key difference lies in work setting and management style.

Job description

JD:
  • Terraform - Automate GCP infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
  • Pub/Sub - Design and manage asynchronous event-driven messaging for scalable microservices.
  • Cloud Storage (GCS) - Store and manage data securely using GCP's scalable object storage service.
  • IAM - Implement fine-grained access control through service accounts, roles, and policies.
  • Cloud SQL - Manage relational databases with automated backups, high availability, and failover.
  • Cloud Run - Deploy and manage containerized applications in a fully managed serverless environment.
  • Load Balancer - Configure and maintain internal and external load balancers for traffic distribution and high availability.
  • Logging and Alerts - Set up observability with Cloud Logging and Monitoring, including alert policies and dashboards.
  • GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) - Provision and maintain Kubernetes clusters with scaling, upgrades, and workload orchestration.
  • CI/CD Pipelines (GitHub Actions) - Automate application and infrastructure deployment using modern DevOps tools.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Design and provision GCP infrastructure using Terraform, following Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices for reusability, modularity, and security.
  • Build and support cloud-native services like Pub/Sub, GCS, Cloud SQL, Cloud Run, and GKE to ensure availability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
  • Configure and maintain Load Balancers (both internal and external) to support resilient and performant traffic routing.
  • Implement and manage IAM policies for secure access control, least privilege, and compliance across cloud environments.
  • Develop and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting systems using Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, and other observability tools for proactive issue detection and resolution.
  • Support container orchestration on GKE, including node pool management, autoscaling, upgrades, and workload deployments.
  • Automate CI/CD workflows to streamline infrastructure and application delivery using GitHub Actions.
  • Integrate GCP Pub/Sub with OIC for event-driven architecture - publish or consume messages triggered by Oracle applications or GCP events.
  • Integrate BigQuery with GCP services to support real-time or batch data pipelines, using Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, or Dataflow as connectors.
  • Write and maintain detailed documentation, including infrastructure diagrams, operational guides, and incident postmortems.
