This role plays a critical part in modernizing Agilent's global commercial technology landscape, directly supporting business continuity, scalability, and long-term transformation.
Role Overview
The Commercial Application Development Lead is a senior technical leadership role within Agilent's Information Technology organization, supporting the Commercial Applications portfolio. This position leads end-to-end SAP solution delivery and plays a key role in Agilent's enterprise transformation from SAP ECC to S/4HANA Private Cloud. • Serve as a technical lead for Agilent's global S/4HANA Private Cloud transformation and customer experience modernization.
  • Architect and deliver clean-core SAP solutions, minimizing technical debt and aligning with SAP best practices.
  • Design and implement API-led integrations across SAP and non-SAP systems using SAP Integration Suite (CPI) and other enterprise middleware.
  • Guide the transition of custom logic from SAP core to SAP BTP side-by-side extensions.
  • Leverage enterprise architecture and process tools such as LeanIX and Signavio to support business process modeling and application rationalization.
  • Promote the use of AI-enabled capabilities (e.g., SAP Joule, Copilot) and automated DevOps practices to improve delivery efficiency and code quality.
  • Oversee release planning, change management, cutover activities, deployments, and post-go-live hypercare.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to global onshore and offshore teams, including oversight of third-party delivery partners.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of SAP experience, including 6+ years in technical leadership roles guiding large-scale, complex delivery teams.
  • Proven experience delivering multiple large-scale SAP ECC and/or CRM to S/4HANA transformation programs.
  • Strong understanding of Quote-to-Cash, Complaint-to-Cash, and Finance business processes.
  • Deep expertise in S/4HANA architecture, ABAP RAP, CAP, and SAP BTP development.
  • Strong hands-on ABAP development experience, including enhancements, BADIs, BAPIs, OData services, object-oriented ABAP, performance tuning, SAP Scripts, SmartForms, IDocs, and RFCs.
  • Solid understanding of modern integration patterns (REST, SOAP, event-driven, asynchronous, pub/sub) with hands-on experience using SAP Integration Suite (CPI).
  • Experience leading teams using DevOps pipelines, Git-based deployments, and modern CI/CD practices.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively across end users, technical teams, and executive leadership.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing SaaS platforms such as SAP C4C (V1/V2), SAP FSM, SAP CPQ, and/or Salesforce.
  • Working knowledge of LeanIX, Signavio, and other enterprise architecture or business process management tools.
  • Experience applying AI-assisted development tools (e.g., SAP Joule) to improve development efficiency and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, hybrid delivery models, change management practices, and regulated enterprise environments.
