Job description

Reporting to the Director, IT Delivery Services, the role is responsible for the management and coordination of all aspects of an application development team to meet or exceed company and department objectives.ย 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Application Development functional deliverables for multiple concurrent projects from inception to completion.ย 
  • Define responsibilities, assign resources, create, maintain and monitor development schedules and budget.ย 
  • Effectively allocate resources to optimize project portfolio delivery.ย 
  • Ensure that application development milestones are met by anticipating issues, managing resources andย 
    Risks.ย 
  • Provide technical guidance and support, ensuring the development team has the expertise, resources, and direction needed to effectively design, implement, and troubleshoot the application. This includes providing strategic advice on architecture, coding standards, best practices, and problem-solving techniquesย 
  • Drive test-driven development and other engineering best practices and continuous improvement of development processes.ย 
  • Participate in various specification and design reviews.ย 
  • Lead, mentor and coach the software development team including Development, Business Analysis and Quality Assurance.
  • Encourage and develop reports so they advance in their technical expertise.ย 
  • Ensure that adherence to technical standards, process and policy is being followed.ย 
  • Foster a climate that supports relationship building and collaboration with other IT teams and throughout the business, which results in improved alignment and innovation.ย
